Netflix hides most of its catalogue behind secret codes — numbered genre categories that never appear in the normal menu. This page explains how the codes work, lists the most popular ones, and gives you the full searchable list of all 536 codes.
Every Netflix category has a number. To open one, add that number to a Netflix genre URL:
netflix.com/browse/genre/CODE — for example netflix.com/browse/genre/29809 for Classic Dramas.Replace CODE with any number from the list below. What appears depends on your country and Netflix plan.
Search the full list and click any category to see example titles with ratings.
What are Netflix secret codes?
They are the numeric IDs Netflix uses for its genre categories. Netflix shows only some genres in its menu; the codes let you open the rest directly.
Are the codes the same in every country?
The code numbers are the same worldwide, but which titles appear inside a category — and whether it has any at all — varies by country and plan.
Do the codes still work in 2026?
Yes. Netflix still uses genre codes, and this list is kept up to date.
Why can’t I open a code on my TV?
TV apps do not accept the genre URL. Use a browser on a computer or phone, or look up the title name and search for it on your TV.
